Danny McLaughlin

Danny’ nickname is “Coach” because he is a sports junkie.  He was a high school track and volleyball coach for over 30 years at South Tahoe and George Whittell High Schools and club volleyball for over 20 years.  He coached numerous Nevada State Champions in track and in volleyball he coached 7 Nevada State Championships and numerous future college volleyball players in club.  He also coached Little League & Babe Ruth Baseball, ASA Youth Softball and numerous Adult League teams.  In addition, he was an avid skier, played softball, volleyball, baseball and basketball in local leagues. He was the Chairman of the City of South Lake Tahoe Recreation Committee when Measure S was passed which funded the building of 25 miles of bike paths in the City, the Ice Rink, the ballfields at the College and the renovation of Tahoe Paradise Park.  He is so local, he married a South Tahoe High School Graduate and has two children, both products of the Lake Tahoe Unified School system.  His daughter is an elementary school teacher and his son is a college volleyball coach.  He been involved in Lake Tahoe media, print, radio and television, most of his adult life.
